Three days full of mma action have come to an end as team MMA Spirit represented the stage with two fighters each night. Our amateurs Sonny (welterweight) and David (heavyweight) started on Friday evening with perfect wins as Sonny finished his foe late in the final round with vicious ground and pound from full mount. David was able to claim a famous KO win in heavyweight style with punches that dropped his much heavier foe.
Saturday saw the return of the NFC series, where both Max Heine (lighweight) and Redouan Bentaleb (welterweight) claimed a spot in the tourney´s quarterfinals with different results though. Max was able to win the first two rounds in his fight with Chris Mach, but fatigue caught up with him as the referee had no other choice than to stop the fight early in the third round due to strikes.
Redouan claimed a second win in his second series fight as he overcame adversity at the end of round one as his opponent started heavy attacks from the full mount position. But Redouan came back strong and controlled the rest of the fight, scoring with hard legkicks, jabs and swings to earn another 3 points!
Sunday saw Katharina Dalisda in a match-up against Dani Neilan in certainly a fight of the night contender as Katharina was dropped in the first round and returning the favor in the second. The win was up for graps in the third round, where a single takedown from the Irish fighter was swinging the points decision in her favor.
The main event saw the return of Aleksandr VertKO, who showed power, determination and smartness to overcome his foe with a unanimous decision win as he clearly dominated the opening two rounds with kicks, hard punches, mixing them in with solid takedowns and ground control to finish a great weekend of fights!
