“Box” part of huge war!

Another weekend full of martial arts action is in finally in the books with MMA Spirit playing a major part again.

It was a weekend full of boxing as much as mma competition and MMA Spirit had 2 athletes featuring at the state boxing championships with both Amin and Gianluca reaching the finals by dominating both their opponents on Saturday. The finals would be held today and obviously in Frankfurt as well with both fighters showing their skillset and determination to win their bouts. Gianluca lost a razor thin decision while Amin won every round on all scorecards to claim the title as “Hessenmeister”. Congratulations and a big shout-out to our outstanding boxing coach Ralph Bunn. 

Saturday evening saw our featherweight mma fighter Marc Bockenheimer entering GMC´s cage as he faced off with unbeaten Ömer Solmaz in what would become fight of the year contender on German soil, when it comes to heart, determination and entertainment. Both fighters would throw all caution into wind after Marc had dominated early proceedings in the opening frame- as they would start trading punches, kicks and knees later on. It was much to the excitement of everybody in attendance and at home in front of their tvs, but Marc would unfortunately be stopped late in the third round via tko as he couldn´t withstand the punches he received anymore and referee Marco Broersen clearly made the right call by stopping the fight.

One thing is for sure- this fight will be talked about in Germany for a long time to come.
